Life With Furry Pets and How To Survive Shedding Season

June 13, 2022

We all love our furry animals. From cats to dogs they are often a source of happiness in our stressful lives. However, they leave behind traces of their fur all over our homes and our clothes. This is a small price to pay for the joy they bring to us, but it can get to be a lot at times. Some animals shed all year long, and others have periods where they blow their whole coat. In these times there are things we can do in order to combat the overload of fur. Here are some tips and tricks that will help you survive the shedding season.

  1. Brush your pet everyday

This tackles the problem at its root. When you brush your dog you are removing the excess fur that would usually fall off on its own around the house and make its way to your clothes, furniture, and everywhere else fur gets. Make it a habit to brush them everyday in order to consistently decrease the amount of fur falling off your pet.

  1. Use Hair Remover Dryer Balls

Pet Hair Remover Dryer Balls - Reusable Foam Balls Rid Laundry and Clothes of Soft Debris including Dog or Cat Fur or Strands of Hair, From Grand Fusion

These dryer balls are life changing. Gone are the days where the fur stays on your clothes even after washing and drying them. These dryer balls are the fastest, easiest way to get unwanted Pet hair off your clean clothes.  All you do is toss them in the dryer with your recently washed clothing and be amazed at your new pet-hair-free wardrobe. They work by creating friction, knocking hair and lint loose on contact.

  1. A Nutritional Diet

Many people don’t know, but nutrition and health play a big role in how much your pet sheds. Always make sure your pet is getting a sufficient amount of nutrients and plenty of water. Malnutrition can cause your pet to shed too much of their healthy fur, and you don’t want that to happen.

In conclusion, shedding season is perfectly normal and many pets go through them. Some just shed all year long. While it is perfectly normal, there are still things you can do to minimize the amount of fur you see around your home or on your clothing. These were just three tips and tricks to help you survive the shedding season.
